Description
Dr. Carolyn Podruchny is a historian of Aboriginal and French relations and Metis history in Early North American history, specializing in fur trade encounters, system of communication, and identity information. She is the author of Making the Voyageur World: Travelers and Traders in the North American Fur Trade (University of Nebraska Press/University of Toronto Press,2006). She has also co-edited several anthologies, including Gathering Places: Aboriginal and Fur Trade Histories (University of British Columbia Press, 2010) and Contours of a People: Metis Family, Mobility and History (University of Oklahoma Press, 2012).
