Proposal

This poster presentation critically reviews and analyzes chapter four, “Responsible, Relational, and Intentional: A reimagined construct of corporate-commons leadership,” in the book "Reimagining Leadership on the Commons: Shifting the Paradigm for a More Ethical, Equitable, and Just World" by author Devin P. Singh. Creating a sustainable and profitable world, where environmental and economic interests receive equal consideration in corporate decision-making, requires reimagining existing leadership models. This chapter explores a reimagined model of leadership by bridging the binary between two existing leadership models: corporate and commons leadership. This poster presentation considers how a leadership framework modelled on responsible, relational, and intentional leadership practices and Indigenous ways of knowing and living can accomplish the goals of both corporate and commons leadership models. With a focus on the environment and the life our ecosystems sustain, this presentation, the analysis of a corporate-commons, ecocentric model of leadership, connects with SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure and the promotion of “sustainable industrialization.” This presentation will explain how corporate-commons leadership takes the corporate concern for industry and the commons concern for sustainability and creates a hybrid model of responsible leadership that is beneficial for all of Earth’s stakeholders.
