Abstract
This thesis contains creative redactions from selected works drawn from the Twentieth Century American canon. The works were written by Langston Hughes, Joyce Carol Oates, Ernest Hemingway, J.D. Salinger and John Updike. This these creatively examines the criteria and identity politics surrounding canonical inclusion.
