Proposal
The rapid rise in dementia patients, the dementia epidemic, is prevalent in Canada necessitating the need to improve the insufficient infrastructure, resources, and information available to support struggling caregivers. We are proposing a policy to increase awareness and decrease negative stigma by implementing pop-up education clinics in rural and indigenous communities as well as integrating dementia education into public school education. This will support the caretakers and provide them with more resources and knowledge they can use to improve the quality of life for themselves and their loved ones.
