Proposal
PEARLS is a community of practise that promotes experiential, active and research-based learning in the Faculty of Science. I have spent the past 2 years supporting this practise as a Communications Intern and have gained valuable knowledge on educational leadership. PEARLS provides grants, resources and professional development seminars to help faculty members enhance their knowledge on experiential learning. As the Communications Intern it has been my goal to ensure that all resources have been reaching faculty members effectively. I researched various methods such as social media outlets, emails, in-person visits and websites to complete this task. I will be discussing the challenges I faced, from which I found that among the various techniques I tried, the use of eye-catching and engaging promotional materials helped attract the most attention, as well as regular social media posts and in-person promotion of upcoming events.
