Although most of our lives are lived above water, life below water impacts numerous aspects of our lives - many of which we don’t even realize. SDG 14, Life Below Water serves to explore the sustainable use of Earth’s marine resources and ensure that they are protected from long-term damage. This presentation explores specific targets outlined by the United Nations that work towards achieving the goals outlined by SDG 14 - including reducing marine pollution and protecting and restoring ecosystems. The efforts being taken by the University of Windsor to contribute to this goal are also explored through this presentation. Currently, the University of Windsor has institutions and teams of researchers that work exclusively on topics related to Life Below Water. Exploring SDG 14 is crucial in being able to coexist with the world around us and creating a livable world for all future generations.
