With a focus on the United Nation’s fifth goal for Sustainable Development and Growth, this presentation analyzes the causes of gender inequality and efforts to make societies more equitable world-wide. Stories of real-life women’s experiences who have suffered from the lack of respect and resources are featured. The global scope of this problem and its relation to intersectional identity are also addressed. To conclude, the presentation switches to a local focus emphasizing what the University of Windsor endeavors to improve gender equity on campus.Â
