Abstract
This paper presents two robust fault isolation observer design approaches for linear uncertain systems. The proposed fault isolation observer is robust to structural uncertainties by producing disturbance decoupled residuals. The first method uses a direct eigenstructure assignment scheme to make a diagonal transfer function between faults and residual. The second method is carried out through transformation of system into its Special Coordinate Basis (SCB) form such that the disturbance decoupled fault detection observer (DDFDO) can be combined easily with Beard-Jones Detection Filter (BJDF) theory to produce a robust fault detection filter.
