Notes
The State of the Strait conference is a biennial meeting convened through a boundary network of Canadian and U.S. agencies, institutions, and organizations promoting ecosystem-based management of the Detroit River and western Lake Erie. The 2022 State of the Strait Conference was held at the University of Michigan-Dearborn to review the history and current status of sediment contamination in these two rivers, share other Great Lakes case studies of successful cleanup to identify lessons learned, and explore collaborative approaches and creative financing to continue ecological recovery and support community revival.
